Struggle

entry 54                          " सफर खुबसूरत है, मंजिल से भी"-Amitabh Bhattacharya (ADHM) "Struggle" is a part of life but some go on to the extent of saying that life is a struggle. Here I'm not validating any opinion, everyone has his own perspective and perspective arises after deep analysis of life's experiences. So here this entry is not talking about the struggle in general but about the one behind the dreams that once rose directly from the heart. 'Struggle' has its own veneration among those who succeeded after a great number of failed attempts. The success that those beings achieve can't be compared to the ones who earned it in very initial stages. That phase of life is a character building phase which defines that person until the rest of life. Here not talking about those who give a few tries and later on shift goal, the address is about the obdurate kind. At some point, in-between they even start d...

They reside inside trees

entry 66  July 11, 2020 At some level, I like to personify stuff and all might be that’s somewhat acted as immunity against narcissism and hedonism. My Baji (Grandfather) was a straight forward and a bit rough kind of person. One who had served in the army during two very decisive wars (that of ’47, as a young recruit and ’71), It was normal of a person to be of that nature given the circumstances. He was a traveler and an explorer. He bought an Ambassador after retiring of the rank of Havaldar and drove it as a taxi. As a taxi driver, most of his expeditions were limited between Jammu and Srinagar. And how could one forget the heartiest desire of him to take me once to Patnitop, if everything went well. Alas! That could never happen as the incurable disease got better out of him. But one thing was obvious by the way he used to eulogize about Patnitop that that place had a special place inside his heart. And more than the desire of him to take me there I think he himself...

The worst about failure

entry 65 September   9, 2020 This year started with a ray of hope, as usually every year does, that this year I’ll be realizing my dream, this year I’ll turn my persistence to pay all the dues, and that this year I’ll be bringing the happiest moment in my mother's life. I’m a believer in dreams and I dare you that I’ll prove you wrong if you ever doubted my worth. Each one is aware of one’s worth and makes efforts in order to earn admiration. You have seen your fellow men succeed and you know that you are no less than them. You do envy them for a little, then everything becomes as usual and but yes you do solidify your belief of achieving the desire by self-suggestion that if they can, you can. There are no absolutes, only relatives and I dare if some questions this essay’s morality on comparison bias. No matter how personal our goals are, they are inspired via relativity. The worst thing of all failure isn’t the pain inflicted by the result but the thought of again failin...

a brief therapy session

entry 64 The phase from the movement, you have the realization about what you really want to achieve till the moment you either achieve it or fight till the last opportunity is the character-building one. I’m not an authority to guide you on how to achieve your aims and objectives. As I myself haven’t done any wonders which could motivate you or inspire you. But I can be your hustling companion to whom you could look and say if he is still going on then what keeps me. Life is a complex as there are no simple rules to succeed and above all what might have worked for others, might not do a thing for you. I never have believed in pre-determined destiny and luck and this belief of mine has further solidified with consistent failures. Free will is the very essence of our existence and that is what makes our race to act supreme, at least on this planet and in its periphery too. But still, a meticulous being could tell that hard work, passion, perseverance is all fine but there is some random...

Grave of the Fireflies

Director: Isao Takahata                  A s it is usual of a cinema lover to like pages on social networking sites which incessantly provides nice gist of movie frames and small descriptions related to them on a regular basis. If the movie in the post is seen earlier then elation accompanied with a sense of pride on one’s cinematic prowess happens. The present writer possesses a great deep sense of veneration for Japanese cinema, the reason being the high emotivity it carries within its realm. Might be! As of some parallel value system which eases the relativity. I saw a post about this movie and googled the title and immediately made mind to watch it ASAP. This movie’s depiction of such a tragic tale literally broke my heart and also shattered the prism of war-heroism hibernating in some corner of my subconscious.                  ...

The Bitch Hunters

entry 61 K anishk took great pride in human form and believed that Homosapien are the most advanced race in the entire ever-expanding universe. Took great pride in masculinity and thought of self as a modern chivalrous knight. He enjoyed indulging in physical activities and did perform the workout with assembled tools at home five times a week and claimed of performing calisthenics daily, in front of others especially if the addressee is a female. Along with this, he claimed to do endurance run on random days to which almost every running mate didn’t pay any heed as for them it was just a run.                        During one fortnight, Kanishk had noticed one strange thing each morning when he opened the gate to go for a run, a liquid substance of a near one meter flow from left lower-edge of the gate. From the texture, he concluded it to be a piss of a dog. That prompted him to wake up early from there-on to catch th...

The Times We Live in

entry 60 “ No matter how unbiased and rational we claim or portray to be, some prejudices are so ingrained that they are projected in our expression without any deliberation behind.”  The main motivation behind writing this piece is how the difference in thought process and opinions of self and especially others shape the individualized world. Individualized world is the creative existence as per one’s intellect and how one perceives the stimulus. That said, thought process is the crux of that embodiment. Now, thought process is an evolutionary, impressionable and critical in nature. A great number of discernible and incomprehensible events have an evident impact on person’s thinking. The place and persons we belong to, where the time spent the most, especially the age 15-20, the people and groups we come in contact with, whether knowingly or unintentionally. The songs we binge on, movies, series, media, literature we intake. The most important of all are the drastic experiences ...

Her : a construct

entry 59 I had this image of you inside of me - BOUND(1996) One of the subliminal effects of being a cinema lover is that the idealism in one gets a regular dose of romanticism. I humbly worship that the romanticist in me never dies. Life proceeds through many stages of evolution, the rationalism being hyped as the epitome of the process of gaining sensibility. If one ever asks me the wonders that inspire to live and make my world surreal, cinema would be among the top threes. One just can’t name this relationship being one-sided, as it has accommodated me so well within its realm, showered love, took great care whenever indifference caused hypnotization. The interaction of the neurons with the continuum of frames has caused synthesization of proclivity and eruption of various dream-like constructs of human forms, places and relationships. Among others, the one that catches the fancy of my imagination is the construct of “HER”. HER is not any-one cinematic characte...

JUST A FORMALITY

entry 58 The title of this entry is quite in regular parlance of those all self-acclaimed liberal who want to portray themselves as the torch-bearers of bringing radical change (a good-one) in society by doing away with all those conventional/traditional themes that have gone clichéd over time, as per their plagiarized intellect. The harsh allegation by the author are defended on the basis of the fact that knowledge never grow of its own, there are definitely many source of easily forgettable inspirations which helps in building the intellect of a person. This hostility towards the class that uses these words is not innate one but have been under construction since the author has started visualizing and conceptualizing various shades of human-nature. The ever bewildering human-nature in reality is just a big dichotomy as being able to show-case both awe-inspiring and disgusting facets at times.     This writing is one such quest to make an understanding of these-ve...

Dr. Bengali’s Graffiti

entry - 56   Certain things happen in life which compels one to see them beyond the prism of mere coincidence. One such incidence happened to me when I was in my +1 grade, struggling with hell lot of thing. That very day I had taken leave or I would say uninformed leave. Randomly surfing through TV and all of sudden a channel named DW TV got my attention. For sure that was the first time I paid a visit to this German channel. The ongoing broadcast was related to art. At that moment on the earth, I got familiar with an interesting artist – BANKSY. All the documentary that they telecasted just awed me. After watching, I was like, “Man! I want to live that kind of mysterious life”. The other new word that I learned that day during that episode was ‘GRAFFITI’, to which I listened quite cautiously to learn to pronounce it precisely. According to Wikipedia – ‘Graffiti are writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched or painted illicitly on a wall or other surface, often w...

PEACE - II

continuation of entry-55 The answer to this above question is not some research work done by me and the answer might sound didactic but no such intentions behind. Facing harsh situations might not be same to everyone. Some go through it little easily as of large family where the burden is shared. It is hard for them who got no one but God to rely on. So the only attempt here is to share my maturation after going through something quite traumatic. And the main reason for such trauma was my approach to that event. The work done on self in order to deal with such incidents with composure is the source behind these writings. This entry is my quest to find out why at the moribund state we seek for peace desperately? ·         The interpretation of peace varies from one person to another. For many of us, peace is invariably related to happiness and happiness being the fulfillment of desires. The actualization of desires provides pleasures. W...

PEACE - I

entry-55 "Peace is all what we aspire for" – Anonymous It’s been long since I inked some words on my story notebook. Reason for that could be two, one among them being there might have been no inspiration as of lack of muse or might be life had been little jubilant a while back. Ask any artist the source of inspiration behind their masterwork, the answer would be “pain”. If that’s the case then do they embrace pain or seek for it willingly. “No”, they are destined to go through it. And if some go extra steps to seek it, then the genesis behind that artifact is not that gratifying. As a human being, we all beseech for one thing the most and that thing is peace. I don’t know whether I’m grammatically correct by using ‘thing’ word for peace. Times comes in everybody’s life when everything in the universe seems in opposition. The synergy of all actions and reactions of self as well as of people and things surrounding one,   which many a time perceived as a reward of previ...
