"Peace is all what we aspire for" – Anonymous
It’s been long since I inked some words on my story
notebook. Reason for that could be two, one among them being there might have
been no inspiration as of lack of muse or might be life had been little
jubilant a while back. Ask any artist the source of inspiration behind their
masterwork, the answer would be “pain”. If that’s the case then do they embrace
pain or seek for it willingly. “No”, they are destined to go through it. And if
some go extra steps to seek it, then the genesis behind that artifact is not
that gratifying.
As a human being, we all beseech for one thing the most and
that thing is peace. I don’t know whether I’m grammatically correct by using ‘thing’
word for peace. Times comes in everybody’s life when everything in the universe
seems in opposition. The synergy of all actions and reactions of self as well
as of people and things surrounding
one, which many a time perceived as a reward of previously committed good karma or as a fulfillment of prayers or the
location of stars and planetary objects in the right quadrant. But life does
not stir in this way all the time. And for a rationalist and realistic
psychology, the high and the lows are nothing but phases of mortal existence.
But emotionality is a proprium of human beings, the so coherent pragmatic
approach vision starts getting little blur, sometimes quite opaque when high
tides take away all the harbor and fine particulate sand and only things that
are left behind comprises some pebble, stone boulders and a few conch shell
which a person can blow to shed his frustration against the Energy in whom s\
he always believed or to call for help from that energy which further solidifies
his faith and when nothing happens accompanied
with the exhaustion by continuous thumping(blowing), the conditions
deteriorates further.
The analogy is not a creation of a thorough and thoughtful
mind. It’s just a stimulus of some harsh experience. It’s hard to conclude with
hitherto evolved brain as it still being in the initial stage of metamorphosis,
that whether emotions or social characteristics, which one of them surged first
in humans. As both of them got enriched along with evolution and are interlinked
for sure, as one substantiates other. And this social attribute is no doubt the
epitomal reason for our survival as not just being the most advanced race on
this planet but might be in the entire cosmos but still it also constitutes to
nerve-racking anguish when there appears mighty distress. All the prognosis
that one has assimilated to react to any future misadventure proves futile. Not
talking about events in general but as change is the only constant so does the unexceptions. No matter how greater the probability of favourable outcome still
it does not diminishes the chances of mishappenings. Society is a complex place
to live as it being a superset of humans, emotions, social-physical interactions,
religions, spirituality, classes, insecurities, criticalities and deceptions.
And now the word which compelled me to write this entry
becomes the entrant –
“Peace”. Put your hands up and make some noise for Peace(and
the word peace echoed all around and after every word the sound dampened). We
all in excitement started cheering by chanting “Peace, O! Peace” but couldn’t
find it nowhere. Excitement transits into desperation and still, it is nowhere
in the sight. The howling, hooting, whistling and chanting all started laxing.
There came a time when even low-pitched sound could be easily heard. Few in the
hustle learned one very arcane lesson of life that silence is not synonymous
to peace. No doubt, silence could be a solace where peace could be found. So
now the question has risen what exactly does peace means and does one have to
forego materialism* to attain it? ( Materialism here just not obliges with
pleasure but with all societal aspects)

The answer to this above question is not some research work
done by me and the answer might sound didactic but no such intentions behind.
Facing harsh situations might not be same to everyone. Some go through it
little easily as of large family where the burden is shared. It is hard for them
who got no one but God to rely on. So the only attempt here is to share my
maturation after going through something quite traumatic. And the main reason for
such trauma was my approach to that event. The work done on self in order to
deal with such incidents with composure is the source behind these writings. This entry is my quest to find out why at the moribund state
we seek for peace desperately?
·
The interpretation of peace varies from one person to
another. For many of us, peace is invariably related to happiness and
happiness is the fulfillment of desires. The actualization of desires
provides pleasures. When the mind experience heightened state of joie de vivre
one feel this life incredible and claim
the experience being heavenly( not talking about mere carnal fulfillment, a
beautiful natural site can cause euphoria). So can we conclude congeniality
being peace? This maxim connotation does hold its ground only for those who
embrace materialism but these personals do reach a state where there left no
urge for satisfaction which further causes dissatisfaction and despair.
